Prayer Can Change a Man’s Heart

Allan was a tough man. Raised by a single mom with five siblings, he learned how to scrape his way through life and climb to the top of humanity’s heap through sheer determination and grit. He married at nineteen, had his first son at twenty, then a baby girl at twenty-five. Over the next two decades he advanced from driving a delivery truck at a lumberyard to becoming part owner of a building supply company.

Allan drank heavily, fought with his wife verbally and physically, and terrorized his children emotionally. He gambled, dabbled in pornography, and had questionable relationships laced with a host of unsavory vices.

But when his teenage daughter gave her life to Jesus and began praying for her family, God grabbed the chisel of grace and began chipping away at Allan’s proud heart of stone. One day he told her, “I’ll go to church with you from time to time, but I could never become a Christian. I’ve done too many horrible things in my life. God could never forgive me. I could never be good enough.”

His daughter explained that no one could ever be good enough. If we could, then Jesus wouldn’t have had to die on the cross to pay for our sins. But Allan couldn’t wrap his mind around that kind of grace.

When Allan was forty-six years old, his life took several hairpin troublesome turns. Because of a business deal gone terribly wrong, he was sued for breach of contract and breaking a no-compete clause with a former employer.

Allan teetered on the brink of a nervous breakdown. From man’s perspective, it appeared he was on the verge of losing it all. From God’s perspective, Allan was right where he needed to be.

One day, in a surge of panic, Allan drove from North Carolina to Pennsylvania to try and find his wife at a meeting she was attending. When he couldn’t find her, he stopped by a church and asked for prayer. The church receptionist drew Allan a map on a piece of scrap paper and sent him to find a pastor out in the woods building his new church.

Allan followed the map and found a man with a hammer in his hand and Jesus in his heart. He poured out his heart and told the pastor everything he had ever done in his raucous life. Then the man put his arm around Allan and said, “Now, let me tell you what I’ve done.”

The way Allan later explained what happened that day was this: “That man had done everything I had done. I knew that if God could forgive him and he could be a pastor, then He could forgive me too.”

Allan accepted Jesus as his Lord and Savior that day in the woods of Pennsylvania, and became one of the sweetest men I’ve ever known.

Allan was my dad.

From my earliest years as a Christian, I experienced the power of prayer to change a man’s life—to strengthen a man’s resolve, to protect a man’s heart, and to mature a man’s faith. My first hand encounter with God’s faithfulness to hear our pleas for the men in our lives began with my father and continues with my husband and son.

As a wife, you have the power to open the floodgates of heaven through prayer on your husband’s behalf.

As a mother, you have the privilege to stand in the gap to bring God’s will to earth as it is in heaven on your child’s behalf.

As a friend, you have the position to intercede for and link arms with someone you love on their behalf.

Through prayer, God’s power and provision of God flows into the lives of His people.

In my book, Praying for Your Husband from Head to Toe, I show wives how to cover their husbands in Scriptural prayer from top to bottom. However, you can use this pattern of prayer to pray for anyone.

Today, let’s pray for the mid-section. I’m going to leave the word “husband” in the prayer, but you can substitute it for whoever is on your heart today.

Dear Lord, I pray for ________________.

Shoulders – No matter what my husband goes through today, assure him that nothing is too hard for You. Empower him to cut the cords of worry with the saber of praise and to place his burdens on Your able shoulders. Genesis 18:14; Deuteronomy 31:8; Psalm 9:10.

Heart – Place a hedge of protection around his heart to keep corruption out and purity in. Proverbs 4:23; Proverbs 17:20; Proverbs 17:22.

Back – Protect him in the physical and spiritual realms. Keep him from the devil’s schemes that would attempt to trap him or trip him up. Thank you that no weapon formed against him will stand. John 10:10; 2 Corinthians 2:11; Ephesians 6:10-18.

Arms – Help my husband be strong and courageous in Your mighty power. Bolster his courage when he is afraid and reassure him when he doubts. Deuteronomy 31:6; Joshua 1:9; Isaiah 30:15.

HandsBless the work of my husband’s hands. Reward his efforts and bring him success. Deuteronomy 33;11; Deuteronomy 28:12-13. In Jesus’ Name, Amen.

    1. Lord we Thank You … I pray for a yurt peaceful house for Mary Elizabeth. . And that all that come in there feel cherished safe and valued. Amen

    2. Dear Mary Elizabeth – I’m praying that you renew your mind in God’s strength. I pray you know how much you are loved by God. I read the book Night Light by James and Shirley Dobson. It is a devotional book for couples. As soon as I starting praying from this book and realized I’m Christ’s bride things changed for the better in my husband’s and my relationship. He doesn’t even know I pray every day for him with prayers I got online. I’m praying that your heart and mind are renewed and strengthened by God. When you turn to Him, life gets better here on earth. Isaiah 41:10-11 So do not fear, for I am with you;
do not be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you and help you; I will uphold you with my righteous right hand.

    3. Mary Elizabeth, I am praying for you, your husband and your marriage. May God make your marriage equally yoked if it isn’t yet. May God give you and your husband the hearts to confess, repent, forgive, love, be merciful and support one another. May God give you the courage to stay strong as the wife/helper He created you to be and the role you vowed to take before God the day you and your husband said, “I do!” I pray for your husband to love you as Christ loves the church and to be the leader God has called him to be. Life single isn’t the greatest so be content in the state you are in, as we are reminded in God’s word. As this message proves, pray for your husband. God is beside you, knows your struggle and pain. Wait for His blessing and miraculous work while answering your/our prayers. In Jesus’ Name for His glory I pray. Amen!

    4. Dear Mary Elizabeth:
I know exactly how you feel. I am living with the same thoughts.
Dear Holy and Heavenly Father Yahweh, Your Son Jesus told us, ” if you abide in me, and my words abide in you, ask for whatever you wish, and it will be done for you,” John 15:7, and to” have faith in God,… whatever you ask for in prayer, believe that you have received it, and it will be yours.” Mark 11: 23, 24; “I will do whatever you ask in my name, so that the Father may be glorified in the Son. If in my name, you ask me for anything, I will do it.” John 14:13,14. Plus Mathew 7:7; Mathew 18:19; Mathew 21:22; so I am asking in Jesus name Father, I am seeking, and knocking for your Grace for Mary Elizabeth and myself, for restoration and resurrection in our marriages and that You will move Mightily in our husbands, spiritually, mentally, emotionally, psychologically and physically to bring about Your Will for our husbands, for us and for our marriages. I am believing and holding on to your Word which will not return to You void. Isaiah 55:11. And I ask it all for your Glory through the Son, and in the name of You Son, my, our Redeemer and Savior, Jesus-Yeshua, Amen

      1. Suzy,

Coincidently, we are fighting the same battle. Father God, I pray for my sister Suzy to be strong in You and know that You have control of hers and my husband. We release our worries in your mighty hands, Lord, Be God our Provider, Defender, and Father in our lives. Amen

    5. Pray for my son to rely on you. I know God can help him.
Lord, I pray for Mary Elizabeth, her husband and marriage. I know you can help them. Give them strength and courage. Help them as only you know how.
      Amen

    6. I’m separated from my husband and want to pray for him but don’t always know how to. He rejected God’s truth. All I try to do is surrender my need to save him, only Christ can do that. Stay strong in the Lord, Mary. You’re not alone.

    7. Mary Elizabeth , go to You Tube and listen to Charity Gayle sing the song “I Just want To Speak the Name of Jesus”. It will minister to you in so many ways. It has to me. I have been in the very place where you are. So, I am “Speaking the Name of Jesus” over YOU and your Husband ……and most of all, Jesus is listening and our Heavenly Father has not forgotten HIS Plan for both of You…..be blessed each moment dear one. My prayer is that all your hurt and resentment will be purged and replaced with healing and refreshment from our Heavenly Father.

    8. Says almost every wife at one point or another in their marriage. Marriage can be so hard. I encourage you to seek guidance from some godly women in your life.

Dear Heavenly Father, I don’t know the problems in Mary Elizabeth’s marriage. Lord, please fill her heart with the peace that passes all understanding. Please walk through the valley where she can’t see the other side. Your Grace is new every morning, please cover her and her husband with your grace. I pray over their marriage and their hearts. Please lead them to remember what brought them together. Please lead them to remember their vows and to seek your face. Where forgiveness fails between them, please cover them with your love and mercy. Lord, I ask for peace, forgiveness, reconciliation, and safety for this family. I ask for strength, guidance, wisdom, and protection for them individually and as a couple. Lay your hands upon this wife and show her how to navigate these waters. In Jesus name, Amen

    1. Amanda,
I pray that God will cast out the demon of abuse and porn from your husband, and that he will feel God’s love and hear His voice. May God protect your husband from all of satan’s schemes. I pray for you, Amanda. May God fill you with His truth. You are beautiful and worthy to God. You are a child of the King! God loves you as you are.

    1. Amanda I pray 4 Ur husband that the lord removes these things from his life and fixes what needs 2b in ur marriage to bring and restore the love between the two of U.Father God let Ur will be done as U have it planed. AMEN

Please pray for my partner to find his way as God has it planed for him and for our bond 2 grown with trust understanding and communication with each other. Fix the relationship with his grandmother as well.

      1. Praying for our marriage. We’ve been married 35 years and have only lived the first three years as I believe God intended a husband and wife to live. My heart is broken, I’ve blamed myself for divorcing my first husband. Can God restore what should have been a loving marriage that God meant for it be?

  1. I’m currently separated from my husband because our physical living conditions are unhealthy (our house was condemned and uninsurable) my teenage sons are out on their own living in grandpas trailer which isn’t much better lots of mice 🐁 there. Only God can bring our family back together and stop my husband from his prideful ness.

    1. Nicole, I know your heart is heavy and you may not see a light at the end of this tunnel, but I pray that God will open up the floodgates of His mercy and grace upon you and your family. I pray for Him to lift you all up out of the mire and set you on a firm foundation. I pray for healing and hope for you all, in the name of Jesus.

  2. My prayer is for my daughter. I pray that she will seek the healing she needs and she will remove herself from all negative thoughts negative behaviors and habits. I pray that she will allow the Holy Spirit to rein in her life. I pray she starts walking in the power and the authority God has given her. I pray she steps out her shell of doubt belief shame guilt. I pray that she uses her voice to create new positive opportunities in her life. In Jesus name. Amen

  3. Please pray that my husband will have an intimate relationship with Jesus where he wants to be in the word often. please pray that my daughter would be free of addiction and turn to Jesus.

  4. My husband doesn’t believe in the work of Jesus. He believes that if he is good enough that God will grant him ticket to heaven. He does consider himself a Christian but does not believe the Bible is God’s word due to it being written by man and it’s owned by a corporation. He is heavily into all kinds of conspiracy theories and believes that they all relate to the Bible. Our marriage is struggling and has been for a long, long time.

  5. My prayers are for my son and daughter in law that the want/need for alcohol is removed from them. Bring peace to our family.

  6. My husband lost his job yesterday. His confidence is shaken, but I see it as a new opportunity for God to give him an even better job! I’m praying he will completely rely on the Lord and his faith will be strengthened through it all.

  7. When I got married, I wasn’t saved. I was a non-practicing Catholic and my husband was a non-practicing Jew. I became born again shortly after I was married in 1988. My husband is a good man but still not saved. My prayer is for salvation.

  8. My husband and I will be married 25 years this May. We didn’t have a wedding or honeymoon so we’d like to renew our vows with God. Also, we’d like to work out a time away/honeymoon but we have obstacles that we’d like God to work out for our good and His glory.

  9. Please pray for my husband Kirk ,he is going through the effects of Parkinson’s.
He used to be an Alter boy ,but has questions now at Age 74,Is there a God.?Is the Bible the truth or fiction.Praise the Lord that he is open to hearing Daily Devotionals I read to him.I understand that everyone is on their own spiritual journey.I just PRAY 🙏,that he will come to accept the Lord as his SAVIOUR. 1. Mary, keep praying. God is in your story. He loves you & your husband. Keep strong. Be Jesus to him every chance you get and let your light so shine before him that he’ll see Jesus in you.

  10. My husband. Craig stopped going to church a couple of years ago. Everything had been going well until his parents stayed with us for a couple of weeks. We had been doing nightly devotions as a family and still did them a little while his parents were there. But then he stopped doing them once he realized how much it upset them. We never restarted the devotions when his parents left and ot wasn’t too long before he stopped going to church. It was around the time covid hit. He got it in his head that he needed more time on the weekend and church was such a long time. I can honestly say I think he gets even less work done at home while he is skipping church. I don’t even know if he is reading his Bible every day. I’m afraid to push the issue because he thinks he just can’t get up early and he won’t even try. He stays up incredibly late and doesn’t get much sleep.

  11. After almost a year God has revealed to me my brother. There has been a great deal of hurt and pain in this relationship. I’m asking God to heal the brokenness and hurt that I may be vessel of love and forgiveness. And that my brother too would be healed and delivered and saved.

  12. Please join me in prayer pleading for my husband’s salvation and that I may continue to pray without discouragement. I pray for the Lord to remove the barriers that have kept my husband from having a relationship with Him.

  13. I’m praying for salvation for a dear man I know. I’m praying that the Holy Spirit will touch him and lead him into a personal relationship.

  14. For our son…to keep the devil and any temptations away from him. For him to have peace over a broken relationship, be strong against wrongful desires, acknowledge past mistakes, and to work on rebuilding trust with parents.

  15. Today is our 9th anniversary. We are older, and it truly has been a spiritual battle living with this man. He says he is a Christian but his actions has have proven otherwise. . His verbal abuse has just about taken me under. He is very controlling. I just need prayer because God needs to change this man which I know he can do or I am going leave him.

  16. Please pray for my husband. He has deep wounds from a dysfunctional childhood and learned wrong behaviors. He has been going to church for many years but I don’t know if he is truly saved. He is negative, hard, unforgiving, selfish bitter etc. Then we had a situation happen at church. My husband felt that it wasn’t handled properly. We left for a little while but then returned. My husband is still struggling to move forward and give it all over to Jesus. It’s like he’s hanging onto everything that anyone has ever done wrong to him or our family. I believe there are many strongholds needing to be broken. Praying for him to surrender completely to Jesus and allow him to come into his heart to heal and give him a new heart. And that we can reconcile, and restore our broken relationships. That he would forgive as Jesus forgives him. That Jesus would open his blind eyes and deaf ears. Please also pray for healing in my children of all their brokenness. Also Jesus will to be done in their lives. That there would be healing, restoration and redemption for things that have happened. To move forward in the Lord and His plans for our lives.

  17. My prayer is for my 15 yr. old grandson. He is breaking my daughters heart. She has been divorced from his father for 10 years and it is still affecting him. His father has remarried, she has not, but is in a relationship. Kaden doesn’t have friends because of his awkwardness, I guess. He has been diagnosed like so many others with ADHD. She is a wonderful mom but let’s him take his frustrations out on her because of that. She has cried so many tears, as have I. If her heart breaks so does mine. We need prayer for Kaden to find peace and realize how much love we have for him.

  18. Need prayer for my marriage and my husband of 32 years. Pray he experience in a supernatural way the unconditional Love of Jesus and that he have a heart of unity instead of division .

  19. Pray that my adult son will find the Lord. That he will allow me back in his life and the life of his family. He openly curses me and God.

  20. Prayer alone doesn’t change our husband’s heart. Strict boundaries do. As you can see the circumstances in your dads life caused him to seek God. And those circumstances were bound to happen considering he wasn’t making very good decisions in his life. We can pray that God will soften a person’s heart so that they will be more susceptible to word of God and the Holy Spirit when that opportunity comes. But from reading this, one would think that it is on a woman to just we pray it all. God doesn’t work inside someone’s life until they allow him to. To the ladies reading this, please know that it is NOT your job to fix your husband. You do not have to stay with a man who is abusing you who is watching porn who is lying who is cheating. If you pray and act in faith by separating from that person that sets a stronger message than sticking by someone who has shown no remorse or repentance for their actions. I’m not advocating for divorce, but I’m advocating for prayer AND setting strong boundaries and if necessary finding a separate AND SAFE place to live. I hope the authors mom was able to find healing after experiencing what seems like a traumatic relationship

    1. Post

Yes, but you can have all the strict boundaries in the world and another person won’t change without the power of the Holy Spirit to convict and conform them.

      1. Thanks for your reply! Yes and that’s where I agree with you. But a wife shouldn’t stay in that environment where physically or emotionally manipulative or abusive behavior is happening. You can pray for the Holy Spirit to convict AND remove yourself to a very SAFE distance especially if those boundaries have been violated. God also cares about that wife experiencing that pain and trauma and would not want her to be subject to that day in and day out.

  21. That God would heal my marriage and bring my husband home with a heart for Him…allowing Him to rule and reign supreme in his life.

  22. My prayer is for my husband and teenage daughters that God will remove their doubts and answer the questions that keep them from having a fully trusting and believing relationship with Him and that God will bless the work of my husband’s hands. I’m also praying for restoration of Jacqueline’s relationship with her brother. Amen

  23. Please pray for my nephew and sister and law…that she is healed from her anxiety and he from his addictions. Please give them both the power of resistance and will power.

  24. Please pray that God would heal the relationship between my husband and our youngest daughter. Soften his heart for her and help him see her with new eyes. Help him learn how to build her up and give her the unconditional love she is looking for. Help him be able to give her his undivided attention when she wants to talk. Help him not make assumptions about her motives. Help him to listen and not try to fix. This would be life-changing, not just for their relationship but for the whole family. Thank you. ❤️

  25. I pray my husband will have a change of heart. He says he believes, but seems indifferent to church, reading the Bible and his Interraction with others. In Jesus’s Name. Amen

  26. I ask God to bring back my husband confidence and ask for restoration of his body as health issues have depleted his body and his confidence has been affected. I ask to restore his mind to know that God is able to bless him again and make him whole
Asking God to help me with ways and words of encouragement (scriptures) to help our marriage

    1. It may take years for you and your husband, but I praise God that “I have my husband back” (or at least 85% and that’s enough to know it’s “him”). The best place to be is “curled up in God’s lap” and just keep praying. The Lord doesn’t promise instant answers all the time, but He is faithful.
You are possibly facing a long and lonely walk, so just keep holding on to God’s hand, and to your husband’s hand. There were days when I felt like a little child – too tired to even hold up my hand, but God didn’t let go of me, so I am thankful.
Very few will really understand, and you need to give grace to those who tell him – or you – that he just needs to pull himself together, just needs to have faith, just needs to take this herb, just needs to….(fill in the blank from the ones who really don’t know what they’re talking about). Or that “it’s just depression and he …..” (again fill in the blank from the ones who really don’t know what they’re talking about). Sometimes these “helpful” comments were the worst part of my day.
And please don’t ignore your loneliness. Make the effort to have some interaction with those who don’t tell you “he just needs to…” and find some comfort in true friendship. It’s also hard to talk about things sometimes without dishonoring your husband, but you can ALWAYS tell God, so talk to Him often.
Blessings as you stand by your husband in the empty desert of life. May you cling to the beauty of God and His goodness and once again see the fullness of your husband.

  27. I pray my husband s heart would soften. He has anger issues and a chip on his shoulder. He goes to church but I pray God would soften his hard heart. He is very critical . Sometimes I just need to be with friends who treat me normal.

  28. My husband and l have experienced financial hardship due to unwise decisions and a lack of submission and obedience to Christ. Pray my husband and I will walk fully in the will of God and will become hearers, doers, and readers of His word. May we submit to the leading of the Holy Spirit, walk in agreement/unity, trust God will supply our needs, align our desires with His desires, and seek wise counsel as we make decisions together.

  29. My prayer is for my son, he’s going through a very challenging time right now, his son is having health problems and I would love to see him totally trust that God is with him on this journey and he is not alone! I would love to see him return to a closer walk with our Lord and Savior!

    1. I will continue to pray for you, your son and for his son’s health.
The Lord bless you and keep you, The Lord make His face shine upon you and be gracious to you; the Lord turn His face toward you and give you peace.” Numbers 6:24-26 NIV

    2. Praying for healing for the grandson.and praying for your son to place all of his burdens and cares unto the Lord and to completely trust that God is in control.

  30. For the full restoration of my marriage and for my husband to come into a full revelation of Gods Love and love me as Christ loves the church

  31. Please pray for my husband for wisdom and understanding for the work that was given him and to be the disciple that the Lord wants him to become. He is struggling with this.

  32. This article really encourages me. My husband needs prayer for daily surrender and deliverance from chronic pain and addiction.. Salvation for my son and 2 stepsons.

  33. Please pray God will bless me with a God fearing, equally yoked husband. Please pray God will give me clarity if Jason is my husband and, will at least guide us to have peaceful communication. Finally, please pray Jason will accept Jesus has his Savior and know Jesus accepts him, just like Jesus accepted Allan, Sharon Jaynes’ father. Thank you so much.

  34. Please pray for my son Justin who is 33 years old and has an addiction problem. Pray that his desire for drugs will be totally removed from his body and that he will find the love and grace of the Lord Jesus Christ.

  35. I pray the Lord would heal my husband and take away the bitterness he holds on to from his current condition and that he rejoices that he is getting better and physical therapy is working. I pray for his patience through this long recovery that God’s purpose be revealed to him and grows closer to God.

  36. Please pray for my teenage son. He struggles with my divorce from his dad. He struggles in school and making friends. I pray for Jesus to come into his heart and guide him through his life.

  37. Please pray the Holy Spirit convict and confront my husband from viewing the barely clothed beautiful women/celebrities/models that Yahoo enjoys to bring to our attention.

  38. My prayer is for my husband, sons, and daughter-in-law. I pray God would be first in their lives and they would walk with him daily. I pray for the restoration of their relationships, and for healing from the hurt they have caused each other. I am trusting God to work in His timing and to bring glory to His name and bring good out of their pain. I pray my husband becomes a godly example for all of my family, and they see a difference because of His work in his life.

  39. I pray for Sandy Parker’s son. Lord, let him hear Your still small voice and draw him close to your heart. Surround him with your sweet presence. Soften his heart and open the eyes of his heart that he may receive Your love and all of Your promises. Lord, with one touch or word from You, heal him completely and deeply. Start him on an exciting God-journey that will transform his life. Amen!

  40. My husband is 64 days sober but still fighting many other significant issues and addictions. I am his only resource to healthy choices (outside of med management) and I am exhausted. I do not want him to relapse because I am weary.

  41. My request today is for my husband. He is preparing for retirement, seeking God when and how to go. His health has declined and I see his memory and mental faculties declining. He is a man of God who loves the Lord and his family. He has faithfully followed Jesus for 44 years. He needs guidance, reassurance that God is with him and working all things together for good.

  42. Praying for ALL of the ladies in this comment section. I have seen in my own life how prayer truly works to change a man’s heart. It is my prayer that you all find peace, hope and faith. I pray that you can prayerfully work in your marriage, as a mom etc.. Even if you have to leave for a while to protect yourself, your prayers should not cease. Thank you Sharon for sharing your story, it is proof that redemption and restoration can happen. Lets all be diligent in praying for the men in our lives, if we don’t who will?!

I cannot get warm in my house as running the heating is too expensive like for most other households in the UK. As a result of being so cold in the home, I have chilblains in my hands.
My husband is the breadwinner and has taken the assurance that comes with that away.
As a praying woman, I have already forgiven him as I hope he has me. I know that prayer moves God’s hand and ask that you join me in praying for the storm to be still and that my husband comes home. Thank you and God bless

    1. Lord I pray for Hope’s husband that he find courage, strength and comfort in the arms of the Lord regarding his knee and pain problems and that he rest in the knowledge that God is always good and always has a plan. Amen.

  46. Please pray for my husbands salvation. We should be getting ready to celebrate of 25th wedding anniversary in April, but instead my husband has decided to end our marriage and we are in the middle of a divorce. I am really worried about my husband because he does not know the Lord.

    1. This too is my prayer Melissa. I pray your husband will be led to take his rightful place as the head of your household, leading and guiding you spiritually and financially in Jesus’ Name.

  47. I pray for my granddaughter…17…who has stopped talking to me. She has a boyfriend, works at a theater and is graduating in May from High School. She backed out of church activities and Bible reading. I want to be in her life again.

  48. My husband and I have been struggling in our marriage. I am ready to leave because I don’t feel loved or appreciated. He has an addiction to gaming which makes me feel like I’m pouring my all into his emotional tank yet mine is empty all the time. I’m just about ready to leave.

My Lord, I pray for Hope husband. Please Father God fill him with your peace today as he seeks medical advice. Let him know you are with him and that your will is above all. I pray healing over his knee in your Glorious name Jesus Christ.

  49. Dear Lord, I pray that my son John returns to God to the power of the Holy Spirit. He has experienced a 12 year mental illness. At nearly 30 he is finally showing some improvement. But his heart remains hard and he’s very difficult to live with and be with. I pray that my husband his father, well look upon his son with the love he used to before the illness took hold of him. I pray for strength to continue to be strong for myself and my family and our daughter. Amen

  50. Hope I’m praying for your husband to get a good diagnosis and to follow the doctor’s recommendations. My husband also suffers from knee pain and 6 months ago underwent reconstructive surgery on his Achilles tendon and is in no hurry to consult a doctor for the knee pain.

Please pray for my son in law and his 3 sons, my grandsons ages 18, 17, and 13. My daughter is a Christian, not sure my son-in-law is as he’s never made a profession of faith. My oldest grandson absolutely refuses to believe the Bible or to even discuss it with me. The 2 younger ones profess to be Christ followers but are not being fed anything to help them grow in their faith.

  51. Please pray for my husband as he goes to the doctor Thursday to be tested for prostate cancer. He seems to have many of the symptoms.

  52. Wow-Sharon, Thank you for sharing this.
I love a man deeply that advanced his way in a lumber yard to becoming a top lead sales man that has made him very wealthy. He is a heavy drinker-every day of the week. He fights with me verbally and physically and scares my daughter at times. He over tips significantly to the female bartenders and waitress’ for attention. He is consumed with pornography. And He makes extra money in a secret fashion with friends. (Your story deeply hit me.)

I’ve been praying deeply for him. but I have separated recently bc of the anxiety and pain that I was experiencing from not understanding his ways.
How did your mom walk in faith and stand firm thru the hard times? Any advice to give a fellow sister.

  53. I am praying for Hope today. Lord, I pray that you will heal Hope’s husband from his chronic knee pain. Give his doctor wisdom. May he be able to use this situation as a witness to Your glory and healing power! Strengthen their marriage through this time.

I am asking for prayer for my husband. He has been having ongoing pain in his foot and back. He used to be an avid runner, cyclist, and hiker. Now, he can barely hobble around.

  54. Please pray that God gives me a sign of which way to proceed. My husband and I are currently separated and have been several times before. My pastor and family truly think I need to continue down the road to divorce. He is not saved and is a very selfish ( narcissistic) man who will do whatever it takes to get what he wants. It has destroyed my trust and my self esteem. I am working to rebuild that. I just need the good Lord to show me the at He wants me to go. Divorce papers already filed and in the works but the Lord can change that too!

    Thank you so much.

    1. Lord, I pray for Susan and her son, Seth. May her mamma heart be comforted by You in a way that only You can do. I lift Seth up to You and ask in the Mighty Name of Jesus that You draw him close to You. Open his eyes that he may see Your truth. May Seth be drawn to Your love and be committed to living a life that will bring glory and honor to you, Lord. We thank You for doing a mighty work in Seth’s heart. In the Precious Name of Jesus, Amen.

  58. Thank you for sharing. I pray for all the families/individuals represented here in these comments. Our families are truly under spiritual attack and need to be lifted up in prayer constantly. I pray for a holy fear of God to grip the hearts of people including my 2 adult sons who have cut off all ties with me, that the Holy Spirit will disclose to them their need for repentance. God is still on the throne. He never changes. In the name of Jesus. God bless you 🙏

  59. Father, in Jesus’s name, I have read every prayer and comments. I take all these prayer requests to the cross and lay them there. “Jesus, You died for this very purpose. Thank you for answering our prayers. Resurrection is coming……Amen!”

  63. Please pray for my youngest son. He was saved when he was younger but now has told me he’s transgender. My heart is so broken for him. I’m just loving him and praying for him.

  64. Sharon, my thanks to God for you and your heart. For 25 years we are married, my husband has abused alcohol, mostly beer and views, or even acts to on line “erotic images.” his term. To him this is not a sin. So I seek prayer that he will see God’s truth in this. Also that Holy Spirit will very soon break down this evil stronghold. For I long for a godly marriage relationship

  65. Please pray for my husband to come back to his faith and be the Christian man I fell in love with. To make good decisions for our marriage, hone and family. To seek God with his whole heart . In Jesus name . Amen

  66. My husband is in constant pain. He is depressed and angry because he cannot do the things he once could. I want so badly to help him but don’t know exactly how. I love you Jesus. I love you husband. Susan

  67. Hello,
My husband and I have been married for 13 going on 14 years. We have a 12yo, 9yo and…4 month old. We have been in therapy for 2 years now. He resents me for several things including not being able to name our first born after him and for not being affectionate. I have struggled with resentment in my heart also because he suddenly stopped going to church with the family 11 years ago and has stopped leading our family. I am working hard to apply what we learn in therapy but the resentment we both have is such a barrier to our progress. I am the sole financial provider for our household and have been leading our children spiritually by myselffor years. I’m frustrated often because it feels as though all the pressure falls on me and he is passive/refuses to take initiative to contribute to our home.

My prayer is that the Lord would heal our hearts, restore our marriage and that my husband would be prompted to take his rightful place to lead our household. I pray our children would look up to him and see him as a Godly example. I pray he would be proactive with running his business as opposed to being passive.

  68. Please pray for my husband Glenn and my sons Steve and John…for their salvation. I came to Christ I my 40s and now at 60 I still pray that they would come to Him as well🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻

  69. Please pray for my husbands health. He has now retired from two jobs and gone through two surgeries in the last 12 to 14 months, but still in pain. I pray for his restored body so he can feel alive again. Recently, he was also told that his kidney and gall bladder are full of stones. Please pray that God would disolve these stones to prevent any further pain or surgeries! Thank you all, dear sisters in Christ!

  70. Praying for my husbands faith & health. Praying over his tongue. His first thought always goes to something negative. He likes to cuss a lot & I find myself getting annoyed with it more & more. I sometimes think maybe weren’t supposed to be together. I sometimes find myself in a state of uncertainty.

    Thank ❤️

  71. Dear Lord, I pray Your Healing Hand is placed on Robin’s husband so that you can heal him physically and spiritually. Amen

  72. Please, pray for my husband, who needs to allow God fully in his life and for our marriage to be restored. It’s been 11 years since he left and I still hoping that the Lord moves powerfully in us. Thanks for praying! God bless you all!

  73. Please pray for my youngest sister Sally. She totally flipped out and is not how she used to be. Please pray for her restoration and spiritual relationship with God. Also, for my brothers Larry and Sutherland who don’t know Jesus that they would have a reverend fear for God and accept Him as their Lord and Savior. I also ask for prayer request for my parents, sister Sandylynn and her husband and 3 kids to accept the Lord as their Saviour, and last but not least my boyfriend Emil that He would have the desire to have a relationship with God.

  74. Praying for my husband for a kind heart towards me — Not the watered down version but real and genuine so I can feel comfortable enough to let my guard down and be his friend. Be myself! Laugh– like really laugh and him not being offended most of the time or so bothered by something I have said. I feel alone.

  75. I also want to lift up all these ladies to the Lord. Whatever their trials or struggles that the Lord would be their comforter, healer, and protector. Also, their guiding light in these times of hardship and their Saviour.

  76. Please pray for my son Michael that he lets me back into his life. I want to be involeved with my grandchildren who i LOVE so much.

  77. I ordered your book 3 days ago and received it yesterday. I ordered this book for my daughter in hopes she will find a way to pray and help my son in law with his anxiety.

  78. Please pray that my husband and son will give their lives to Christ and also that my husband would cast his cares on Jesus and overcome depression

  79. My husband of 20 yrs left home and we have filed for divorce. We still love each other and tell each other everyday..he sd his mind is so confused and don’t know what to do..I want my husband back home and marriage restored.
