One night I was in the restroom touching up my makeup before speaking to several hundred women. I was having one of those moments when I looked in the mirror and thoughts began to swirl in my mind. What am I doing here? What do I possibly have to say to these women that could make any difference in their lives? I am not capable of walking up to that podium tonight.
While I was mulling over the lies and the fiery darts Satan was shooting into my flimsy armor, my cell phone rang.
“Hi Sharon. This is Mary. Where are you?”
“Actually, I’m standing in the restroom at a speaking engagement getting ready to walk out on the stage. I forgot to turn off my cell phone!”
“I want you to know,” Mary continued, “God interrupted me while I was cooking dinner and told me to pray for you. Not only that, He told me to call you…now.”
I was imagining Mary standing in her kitchen with spaghetti sauce simmering on the stove and stopping mid-stir. There might have been a little conversation with God that went something like this:
God: Call Sharon and pray for her.
Mary: Could you just wait a minute God? The sauce is almost done.
God: Call Sharon and pray for her.
Mary: OK, OK, I’ll do it now.
There was great power in Mary’s instant obedience. If she had waited, I would not have known that she was praying. Not only did God prompt her to pray at that moment, He wanted her to tell me that she was doing so. Why? God knew that there was power in her prayer, and He wanted me to know that I was not going into battle alone. He had called Mary to “struggle with me,” to “strive together in battle,” to lock arms with me and march into victory.
I am so glad that God gave us godly friends who will struggle with us in prayer.
Paul wrote: “Dear brothers and sisters, I urge you in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ to join in my struggle by praying to God for me” (Romans 15:30 NLT).
The New Testament was originally written in Greek and sometimes looking at the original definitions of the words can give us great insight. The Greek word Paul uses for struggle in Romans 15:30 is sunagonizomai, which means “to struggle in company of, i.e., to be a partner (assistant), strive together with.”
The root word means “to endeavor to accomplish something: fight, labor fervently, strive,” for example, to compete for a prize or to contend with an adversary.
Prayer for another person is not simply a nice platitude or a pat on the back. I’ll be honest, when I’m having a difficult time and someone says, “I’m thinking about you” or “I’m sending positive thoughts your way,” I don’t feel encouraged. I don’t need happy thoughts sent my way. I need prayer sent God’s way!
When we tell someone that we will pray for them we are agreeing to put on the armor and head to the front lines of battle on their behalf. We are locking our shields and making our appeals with other warriors on someone else’s behalf.
Many ancient shields had brackets attached to the sides. These brackets were a type of latch that soldiers used to lock shields during battle. When the shields were locked together, the soldiers moved as one force, forming a barricade against the enemy.
Alone, the shield was a small defense. Together they formed a human wall. Do you see the significance? When we lock arms in prayer with others, we are locking our shields together and forming a powerfully strong fortress of defense.
Through prayer, the enemy’s plans are intercepted; the principalities and authorities are defeated. Through prayer, the power and provision of God flow into the lives of His people.
Who is God calling you to pray for today?
Dear Heavenly Father, thank You for giving us girlfriends in God to pray for us and with us. Thank you that you called women to join together as mighty prayer warriors with shields linked together, marching into battle as one unified force. In Jesus’ Name, Amen

Hello I came across your prayer request and I wanted to share with you the Dr who healed my mom of interstitial cystitis. My mom went through years and years of pain and suffering until this particular doctor treated her. He actually came up with his own formula that is put into the bladder – It was only his formulation that cured my mom. She had been to several other urologists before him and nothing they did helped. Maybe your urologist can contact him for his formulation?

Then I went and bought a book on how mothers feel when their baby is taken away and the baby separation. She said mom and dad I love you both. Why can’t you accept that someone that is sending good or positive thoughts your way is doing just that…they’ve thought about you. Some people like me just don’t won’t to be viewed as churchy….they had experiences which personally leave them confused and hopeless such as prayer meetings and services which quite frankly left them feeling like it was just some accepted time allotted to do nothing more than air other people’s personal business in the name of prayer…gossipy, judgemental like thank you God that Im here praying for this person, that I’m better than them.

I appreciate these daily devotions. I moved years ago to a community where there are no options for Bible-preaching churches locally or women’s Bible study, The pandemic was great as this allowed us to continue to worship with our church back home however it did not help in getting established here. We have the youngest of our 4 sons who is 24 with Asperger’s and lives with us (also, minimal services) who has been attending a church an hour away. It is a long drive allowing 2 hours just for travel time. I am also a Covid-long hauler and struggle daily with my health and I won’t even go there with how far I have to travel and the number of doctors I travel to for care. Live just feels SO overwhelming right now. I need prayer and direction.
My son started a job today and I am praying that he can be successful. He has no self-confidence. He has a terrible eating disorder and needs a boost. Praying he will find his way. Life is a hard journey right now and I know that Jesus is walking right alongside of me. My husband and I need a church, some good Christian friends and a small group to be involved with.

Cindi, I also suffered with post partum depression over 30 years ago after the birth of both of my sons. What I can recommend is to please see your doctor and get a complete physical with blood work drawn. Especially have your thyroid checked and your blood sugar level checked.
If your doctor doesn’t take your depression seriously then find another doctor who will listen because post partum depression is very real.
Know in your heart that you are doing the best job you can with the knowledge that you have at this very moment in taking care of your newborn. Also don’t be afraid to ask for help. All parents were new parents at one time in their lives and can totally relate.
I am praying for you and your husband also since I’m sure he is overwhelmed too, that you both will get the healing, help and assistance you need to be delivered from this depression. Praying for God’s healing Holy Spirit to lift you both up and give you strength! Amen.

Please pray for my granddaughter, Lily. Toward the end of the school year last year, she was being threatened by a boy in her class who was her friend. He wanted the relationship to go further but she did not. The threats were horrible and graphic and put a fear in her that I did not think was possible. Police were contacted and the boys parents contacted. (He was moved to another school, not in the area).
As a result of this experience, she has told her parents that she has a girlfriend. They struggle with this, as do I. She will soon be 17, and to an extent, still rebellious toward her parents. They are being careful not to be judgmental or push her away. I am concerned by the decisions she is making right now that will affect the rest of her life.
Please pray for Lily, her mind and heart, and that God bring other Christians teens into her life. Also pray for our family and that God will give us the right words to say to her so she knows she is loved.

I have 2 prayer request:
1) is for my nephew Bryson Joshua who lives in Oregon. He is a 6th grader and will be in middle school. I worry about him because he’s chubby and so innocent. I worry that he might be bullied by his classmates. That is a big concern I have that is always bothering me.
2) is for Emil (now my ex boyfriend). He is a Philippino and is in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia working as a chef. When we both parted our ways I said harsh things to him. It’s been eating me up and I’m so guilty. My Pastor and his wife told me to stop the relationship and all communication with him because of 2 reasons: 1) he’s not a Christian and 2) he’s married. The married part he was kicked out of his girlfriend house and is now separated. Anyways, I told Emil that God will avenge him for what he did to me. Now, I feel like I scared him and that he is troubled and gave him the wrong picture of God. I want to comfort him and reassure him that God loves him unconditionally and loves him no matter what he has done. But my Pastor’s wife Sylvia, said I should not contact him and vacillate. I’m not the one to witness to him but to let God minister to him and will bring someone to witness to him. I’ve been so tempted to unblock him but I want to be obedient to the Lord. It’s a struggle thinking about them.

Please pray for my adult daughter that God will heal her heart in places were she has been hurt in the past. Pray that she will receive the Holy Spirit as her comforter and not use substances to comfort her. Pray that God heals our relationship. Pray that God continues to show me how to lovingly navigate our relationship where I am not consistently hurt and lied to because of her hurt she harbors in her heart.

We have struggled due to me not submitting in the beginning and agreeing to follow his decisions and a very strong family involvement in our lives and not strong enough to create boundaries that were needed. Hello, please pray for me and my fans. I was recently diagnosed with a malignant brain tumor that has been removed but now I must begin treatment. First radiation and then chemo, probably one year total for both.
My sons and I have already had many health issues due to Lyme Disease and its co-infections. In fact my eldest of 28 or Daniel has an autoimmune condition called PANDAS and my youngest has something similar called PANS. These are both neuroimmune conditions so they affect the brain and overall central nervous system. They both have Chronic Fatigue due to accelerated heart rates so they get exhausted from tasks that are of little effort for the average person. Now with my diagnosis they eill need to push harder by doing more to take care of me since my ex left our family in 2016 and finally divorced me on 2021.
My sons are barely holding onto their faith in a loving God because of all the difficulties we have faced and then now this on top of diverting else. Honestly, my faith struggles from day to day too. I have no family nearby just a few friends so we are doing this mostly on our own. Trying to recover from brain surgery is hard enough but having to watch my children suffer with exhaustion/Chronic Fatigue on top of that is just not fair. My rudest desires so much to serve and card for me by doing everything but he is so sick that he must lie down to rest after doing the smallest of chores like dusting a room. He prays and had also received a prophetic word that God was going to heal him and he try to believe that it is going to come to pass but over the years he has just gotten sicker and sicker so he winders if God seen cares for him any more. We are all very tired and it was hard enough for me to hang on to my faith during my ex- husband’s multiple affairs and divorce but now I don’t know if I can make it through this and still end up believing in a God who loves us. I know that sounds awful but my hope is waning and my strength is fading as each day goes by. Please pray for all of us. My eldest and sickest sons name is Daniel and my youngest son is Joshua. They are both loving, caring and committed to helping me recover but desperately need healing in their bodies so they can do all that is required in this,season to help me. Finally got my dream of working as a Private live-in caregiver. While my income increased greatly( six figure salary). The stress is often times unbearable. I sometimes want to walk away from it because of the drama. The attitudes of entitled and controlling family members is overwhelming. I just really need prayer for guidance and direction.
Our 5 month old grandson has Downs and holes in his heart that he has to have surgery for. Praying that our healing Lord will close them before surgery and he won’t need it. Thank you!

I am struggling right now being an empty-nester and we’ve lost three kids in five months. It is beyond painful and the one of the kids is getting married too young and won’t listen to any Godly advice. The fiancé has caused so much hurt. My heart is so broken, and we have had so many ugly arguments and now this kid is gone. I have never cried so much in my life, and I don’t know what to do next.
Please be there for my niece Alaska, her mom Jody, father Dave and 4 cats, especially Beau. The house doesn’t have consistent love. There’s so much sadness and hurt. My twin sister, the Mom is a Christian but feels so alone and her husband threatens divorce. Please bring Joy, kindness, but particularly love and faith. Take the darkness from the house and infiltrate it with God’s love. Help each one and cats to see the beauty of each other and always pro. Get rid of those devils and evils in the house!
